Foresta demaniale Pantaleo
It is a territory of 3,939 ha., passed under the state’s administration following the trading
agreements signed in the early ’80s of the 20th century.
The state forest of Pantaleo is comprised within the municipalities of Santadi and Nuxis; the
area is almost totally covered by woodlands (3.830 ha., with a tree density index equal to 97%).
The upper soils are mainly characterized by oak/ilex tree species as coppice-with-standards and
cork-oaks as saplings mixed with conifers, besides a few generally evolved formations of forest
maquis.
Thanks to the funds allocated by a Regional forestation plan, a series of actions were
implemented in the sector of organizational facilities, aimed at improving the management of the
state forest.
